Some sad news out of Ravens camp today, the Ravens have made some cuts. Most of them were completely inconsequential(no offense to the released players), aside from Holloway the Ravens cut CB Jose Cheeseborough, RB Ray Holley, DT Swanson Miller and QB Nathan Stanley.

The only one of the cuts that is interesting is Holloway. Holloway was a converted power forward trying to make the transition from PF in basketball to TE in the NFL like Jimmy Graham and Antonio Gates(among others) before him. I always like potential, and it was easy to convince myself that Holloway had the potential to be the next Antonio Gates and he and Pitta would form one of the best TE duos in the league for years to come, but alas, it isnt meant to be and Holloway is not Antonio Gates.

I hate to see Holloway go because that potential, even if it was a delusion, was fun to think about. That said, he was probably a very long shot to make the Ravens roster, or even the Ravens practice squad, so cutting him isnt really a big deal. Still though, It would have been fun to see him in purple and see what he could do with a football instead of a basketball in his hands.
