Will The Ravens Make Any More Moves?

The Ravens made two big moves after their first preseason game in bringing in veteran pass catchers Brandon Stokley and Dallas Clark. As i wrote yesterday, the Ravens must not have been impressed by their WRs 3 first half catches(combined). The question we have now is wether or not they will make any further moves.

Even with the Ravens newest additions, the WR position is still an issue. They could still use a true big bodied WR. both stockily and Clark are solid slot/possession guys, but neither player is over 6’3″. while 6’3″ isn’t exactly short, when combined with boths lack of physicality, it adds to a pair of players who are more crafty than dominant. Crafty is good, but the Ravens need a big box out jump ball WR. A guy like Anquan Boldin.

Currently, there aren’t any guys like that readily available, but as training camp wears on, you never know what will happen. There is a strong suspicion that Justin Blackmon could become available.  If that becomes the case, the Ravens should be the first in line to inquire about him. Blackmon is a bone head, but he has the potential to be one of the best WRs in the league and needs a more structured environment.

It also never hurts to add a quality DB. The Ravens secondary is solid, but late additions never hurt and if a quality guy is available on the cheap, it could be a nice move. There is some rumors saying that the Bears might be considering blowing up their roster and rebuilding, that includes their trio of stud CBs. The Ravens may not have Charles Tillman money, but Jennings could be a decent option as a cheaper option.

They could also look to the offensive line. The starting five is set and they have a couple decent backups, but having an additional versatile lineman isn’t a bad idea.

The Ravens have some options moving forward. they may sign no one, but odds are, Ozzie still has a trick or two up his sleeve.
