Well this debate has come to heads again with the recent surge of both the Atlanta Falcons and Baltimore Ravens behind their pro bowl quarterbacks, Matt Ryan and Joe Flacco. Both Ryan, and Flacco were drafted in the 2008 NFL Draft with Ryan going 3rd overall to the Atlanta Falcons and Joe Flacco going 18th overall to the Baltimore Ravens
Ryan jumped right into his career with a touchdown pass to Micheal Jenkins on his first career pass attempt. Matt Ryan and the Falcons managed to go 11-5 in his year at the helm but a disappointing 6 point lost in the playoffs to the eventual NFC Champion Arizona Cardinals some say, caused this debate of who’s better.

Joe Flacco also lead his team in 2008 to a 11-5 record. But Flacco definitely had a better time that Ryan in the post season. Flacco and his Ravens made it all the way to the AFC Championship game that was against the Pittsburgh Steelers, who eventually went on to win that year’s Super Bowl. In the 2008 AFC Championship the Ravens fell short of a Super Bowl berth and was beat by the Steelers by the score of 23-14.
Fast forward a couple of years and you now will find that Joe Flacco has a Super Bowl ring and several postseason victories against high quality teams and Matt Ryan on the other hand has got to the postseason every year he has played and has only managed to get one playoff victory.
There are so many things you can add to the debate, Ravens fans and Falcons fan will debate this for many, many years. In the long run this could turn into a Montana-Elway type debate. One thing all football fans know is that both players will someday be enshrined in the Pro Football Hall Of Fame and pave the way for the future.
