According to multiple reports the Baltimore Ravens have reached agreement on a one year deal with free agent tight end Owen Daniels formerly of the Houston Texans. This will be a reunion of Daniels with former head coach Gary Kubiak and tight ends coach Brian Pariani. Pariani and Kubiak both came over from Houston when Kubiak was fired near the end of last season.

Adding Daniels fills the void of a second tight end that Kubiak likes to utilize in his offense. This also adds another security blanket for Joe Flacco. Daniels is a much better second tight end option than the recently departed Ed Dickson. Although last season Daniels had a down year production-wise. However that was an injury that prevented him from playing a full season and Houston was in quarterback purgatory most of the season.

The Ravens have made a conscious effort to improve their offense from a season ago. Adding Steve Smith and Owen Daniels on top of re-signing Dennis Pitta proves that general manager Ozzie Newsome has faith they can rise back to the top. This was a great chance to re-tool the offense and Kubiak should return them to their 2012 Super Bowl form.
