Stock Up: Timmy Jernigan

There were questions about whether or not Jernigan would be able to quickly adjust to the Raven’s 3-4 defense after playing in a 4-3 through his college career, but those questions proved to be unfounded.  Jernigan has been disruptive on the practice field and is consistently getting pressure.

We knew that Jernigan had pass rush skills from day one, and they have been on display at every practice.  There was a bit of a scare when the big DT went down Wednesday night with what appeared to be a back issue, but he was able to limp off the field and John Harbaugh later said he would be “fine.”

Jernigan projects to at least carve out a role on passing downs as a pass rush specialist, and may push for more time if he stays healthy and consistent.  His quick development would be a boon for the Raven’s D-line, which already has it’s fair share of stud pass rushers.
