Stock Up: Steve Smith
We had tempered expectations for S. Smith coming in to camp, but he has blown everyone away with his big plays. Smith still looks young at 35 while routinely burning defensive backs. On top of his play, the elder half of the law firm has gotten a lot of praise for his leadership and fiery nature on the field.
Smith has never had the benefit of playing with as many pass catching options as he is going to be surrounded by as a Raven this season. He stands to benefit from no longer being the focal point of opposing defenses, even though he may lose a few targets. So far Smith has shown that he still has the speed to get open at will, no matter who is covering him.
