What wide receiver will step up and separate himself from the pack?

The fight for a roster spot behind Steve Smith, Torrey Smith, Marlon Brown, and Jacoby Jones is turning into a battle royale of epic proportions.  Kamar Aiken had a leg up in week 1 of the preseason by leading the team in receiving and playing with both the second and third teams, a sure sign he is in the lead for that last coveted roster spot.  But don’t count out Jeremy Butler, who continues to make plays in camp.

Some have speculated that seventh round pick Michael Campanaro’s roster spot may be in danger.  At the very least, he needs to show up in the preseason to ensure that doesn’t happen.  Delonte Thompson has hurt himself as of late by dropping too many passes in practice, but there is still time for redemption.  This horse race isn’t over yet by any means, but the time is now for the cream to rise to the top.
