Stock up: Bernard Pierce
Bernard Pierce had a pretty good game last week against the 49ers, but his performance against the Cowboys was impressive enough that it deserves further mention. Â Pierce started the game over Ray Rice but rotated snaps with the first team until Rice left the game with a shoulder injury.
Pierce only received a total of seven carries, but made the most of them by busting out 55 yards for a stellar 7.9 yards per carry average. Â He ran with power and vision, even showing some speed on a 30 yard run. Â Many have speculated that Pierce could run away with the starting job this year while Rice is suspended, including ourselves. Â But Rice looked explosive on his two carries as well, so this battle is far from over.
