Stock Down: Keith Wenning

We have been among the few who thought that the Ravens might keep Wenning on the final roster and carry three quarterbacks this season.  But Wenning certainly isn’t helping the cause with his erratic play.  While he looked good in practice over the last week, he was downright terrible against the Cowboys Saturday night.  And he played against third stringers.

Wenning was 2 of 4 passing for 23 yards for a subpar QB rating of 67.7.  He absorbed two sacks, losing a fumble on one. While part of the blame can be placed on the terrible play of the reserve Raven’s offensive line, Wenning didn’t show much awareness or pocket presence on Saturday night.  He likely hurt his chances of sticking on the roster, but it may be for the best if the Ravens hope to sneak him on to the practice squad to continue his development.
