Stock up: Kyle Juszczyk

Remember when Gary Kubiak told us that Kyle Juszczyk was going to play a major role in this offense?  Pepperidge Farm remembers.  After recording zero receptions in weeks one and two, the Juice was finally set loose in week three.  The sophomore fullback secured all three of his targets for 54 yards and a touchdown with a whopping 49 of those yards coming after the catch.

It was the first time that Juszczyk not only recorded a regular season reception, but it was also the first time he played over 50% of the team’s offensive snaps this year.  This is largely due to his deficiencies in pass protection and run blocking, where he graded out negatively through the first two games.

Juszczyk still received a negative grade from PFF for his run blocking in week three, but was much better in pass pro.  The Ravens need him to get better in a hurry after Dennis Pitta’s injury, because Crockett Gillmore hasn’t shown anything to make us believe he is ready for more snaps.
