Stock down: Asa Jackson

OK, so he blocked a field goal.  Asa Jackson had a nice clear path to do so thanks to a screw up on the Brown’s part (watch the replay).  Jackson was absolutely terrible in coverage after he got his big chance to play over Chykie Brown for the first time.  Now I guess we see why the coaching staff kept rolling Brown out there even when he was getting repeatedly burned.

Jackson graded out as the second worst player in coverage behind Matt Elam with a -2.2 grade.  He was thrown at 7 times and allowed 6 receptions for a total of 72 yards, with 20 of those yards coming after the catch.  He also gave up a touchdown to Miles Austin.  Yes, the guy the Cowboys let go because he was washed up.

One category that Jackson did “beat” Elam in was quarterback rating allowed when Brian Hoyer threw it his way.  Hoyer had an astounding 149.1 rating when throwing at Asa Jackson, versus 118.8 when throwing at Matt Elam.  The Ravens need Lardarius Webb to get healthy, and fast.
