Stock up: Steve Smith
The ageless wonder continues to defy both the odds and father time as he reestablishes his dominance over opposing defenses. We expected Smith to have a good game against his former team, but no one expected him to explode the way he did. Smith simply went off and made the Panther’s secondary look like a bunch of junior varsity guys.
The scary thing is, Smith could have had a much better day had this game been close. He racked up the majority of his production in the first half, and only picked up a few more yards in the second half as the Ravens toned down the offense and nursed a big lead.
Every week we wonder how long Steve Smith will continue his redemption tour, and each week he gets better and better. If you extrapolate his current numbers, Smith is on pace for 100 receptions and 1,716 yards with 8 touchdowns. It’s an incredible pace, and most would bet on Smith slowing down at some point. But we say that every week.
