Stock down: Darian Stewart

Darian Stewart hasn’t been nearly as bad as Matt Elam this season, but that’s not really a fair comparison as Elam has been among the worst safeties in the NFL. Stewart did have his worst game of the season against the Panthers, which is why his stock drops this week.

With rookie Terrence Brooks and the suspended Will Hill waiting in the wings, these guys have to be feeling the pressure. Stewart gave up receptions to three different Carolina Panthers wide receivers on Sunday, which is one of the worst wide receiver groups in the NFL.

Stewart gave up a grand total of 4 catches on 5 attempts for 67 yards and a touchdown. He slipped in Pro Football Focus’ rankings, and is now the 46th safety out of 77. Again, not horrible, but he can ill afford poor play with guys in the wings waiting to steal snaps from him.
