Stock up: C.J. Mosley

C.J. Mosley followed up the best performance of his career in week four by having an even better outing in week five.  Mosley racked up a career high 14 tackles (8 solo), an interception, a deflected pass that resulted in another interception, a quarterback hit, and 6 defensive stops against the Colts.

Mosley continues to prove that he was exactly as advertised coming into the NFL as a true three down ‘backer.  He has really excelled against the run, but has also played admirably in coverage through five games.  The Ravens have placed a lot of trust in the rookie as well, playing him on 99.4% of snaps so far.

Mosley still has some growing to do, which in this case is exciting news for both the Ravens and their fans.  It already looks like he is virtually a lock for Defensive Rookie of the Year if he continues this torrid pace, and he may just emerge as the new leader of this defense.  For a unit that is showing its age in some places, Mosley is truly a gift.
