Can the Raven’s Wide Receivers Break out of Their Funk?

This wide receiving corps was absolutely terrible against the Bengals.  When your backup running back leads the team in receiving, you know it’s been a bad day.  Michael Campanaro was the only guy getting open Sunday before he went down with a hamstring injury.

Steve Smith and Torrey Smith are primed for a bounce back performance against a Steeler’s secondary that ranks only 22nd in the NFL.  The speedy Raven’s receivers should be able to run circles around a slow and old secondary that has had a hard time stopping anybody this season.

We also hope to see Crockett Gillmore and Kyle Juszczyk more involved this week.  Joe Flacco needs big targets in the middle of the field, and those guys fit the bill.  But for whatever reason, they just weren’t a big part of the game plan last week and only received a total of three targets between them.
