Spears was brought in with fellow defensive lineman Chris Canty as the Ravens were trying to add some stronger depth along their line. Unfortunately Spears suffered a knee injury and wasn’t able to recover. He was released by the Ravens in 2013 and he subsequently retired and is currently pursuing a broadcasting career.
