Reason #2: The Raven’s Run Defense is Dominant

No matter how you slice it, this team is great at stopping the run.  As the weather turns frigid, teams begin to pound the rock with more frequency.  Few teams have a quarterback that can win games on his own.  It all adds up to problems for opposing offenses when the Raven’s front seven comes to town.

Pro Football Focus has the Raven’s run defense ranked as the fifth best in the NFL, and they are ranked fifth in rushing yards allowed per game as well (84.5).  There are a lot of smart football people who like to say that you win by stopping the run and running the ball.  Which leads us to…
