The defense, particularly the secondary, cost the Ravens a game that they controlled seemingly the entire time.  The Chargers were 9 of 11 on 3rd down, an amazing and truly mind blowing statistic.  Penalties plagued the team in a undisciplined effort from even long time veterans like Elvis Dumervil.

One the bright side, the Ravens run defense was again dominant.  The Chargers were held to 64 yards rushing on 18 carries. They did, however, give up a couple of big runs including a 14 yard score to Ryan Matthews in the fourth quarter.

The secondary was so bad it’s hard to find words to describe their performance that we can publish on this family friendly site. Phillip Rivers simply lit them up for a season high 383 passing yards, and when he wasn’t connecting with wide open receivers he was moving up the field on pass interference penalties.
