Welcome to the Daily Caw, where we round up all the latest Ravens news and notes from around the web.  Today we review the injury report, Justin Forsett says he will be OK for Miami, Lardarius Webb thinks the Ravens will have a “hell of a defense,” and is Ozzie Newsome losing his touch?

Lardarius Webb: “We Will Be a Hell of a Defense”

The Ravens officially have a bottom two pass defense, one that has cost them at least a couple of wins this season.  Lardarius Webb is still confident, however, telling the media on Wednesday that he believes the Ravens still have time to get it together. Torrey Smith, Justin Forsett Miss Practice

Torrey Smith exited last week’s game near the end with an apparent knee injury, one that John Harbaugh has classified as “not too serious.”  Forsett was seen limping a little against the Chargers as well, but he has also expressed confidence that he will play against Miami.  Marlon Brown and Jeremy Zuttah missed practice as well, while Michael Campanaro put in his first full practice since suffering a hamstring injury back in October.

Is Ozzie Newsome Slumping?

Newsome has a stellar reputation for finding talent, but this year’s debacle in the secondary has put a kink in his otherwise shiny armor.  The Ravens have only selected one corner on day 2 or earlier in the last 5 NFL drafts (Jimmy Smith), and that oversight is beginning to show.  Not only that, but Newsome has only drafted one Pro Bowl player since 2008.

Jacoby Jones: The X-Factor Against the Dolphins?

Jones can still bust out a decent return every now and then, but calling him an “x-factor” may be a bit of a stretch.  Oh well, it is a slow news week I suppose.
