The lack of a running game really held the Ravens back against the Jags, who once again played beyond their ranking.  This is a defense that has come a long way the last few weeks, giving quarterbacks like Eli Manning and Andrew Luck fits.  It’s no surprise they created problems for a good Ravens offense as well.

Joe Flacco was perhaps the highlight of a dull day, going a respectable but not flashy 20 of 30 for 221 yards and a touchdown.  He didn’t take a sack or turn the ball over, and that was without getting any assistance from Torrey Smith or Steve Smith, and without the benefit of a rushing attack.

The offensive line did a great job in pass protection against a Jags defense that has been getting to the quarterback lately, but couldn’t open any lanes for the running backs.  A pretty dissapointing result considering the Ravens came in with the NFL’s 5th ranked rushing offense and the Jaguars with the 28th ranked run defense.
