2015 NFL Mock Draft: Who Will the Ravens Select With the 26th Pick?
Each year, just before the draft, I add my two cents to the 2015 NFL Mock Draft frenzy by giving you my “One and Only Mock Draft”; so, here are the picks as I see them:
Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Jameis Winston, QB, Florida State
Winston is simply light years ahead of any other Quarterback in this draft in terms of the compatibility of his skill set with the skills required to be a successful NFL Quarterback.
In 2014, the Titans’ Defense allowed almost 2,200 rushing yards and 63.7 percent of their opponents pass attempts to be completed.
Tennessee Titans – Leonard Williams, DT, USC
In 2014, the Titans’ Defense allowed almost 2,200 rushing yards and 63.7 percent of their opponents pass attempts to be completed.
Jacksonville Jaguars – Brandon Scherff, OT, Iowa
Jaguars’ Offense yielded 71 sacks and 118 quarterback hits. Jags might trade down believing they can get Scherff later in the first round.
Oakland Raiders – Amari Cooper, WR, Alabama
Oakland would like to trade this pick but that will only happen if Williams slips. Cooper could help the Raiders improve on their 58 percent pass completion rate, meager 22 TD passes and 5.5 yards per pass attempt.

Washington Redskins – Dante Fowler Jr., OLB/DT/DE, Florida
There is a better than average chance that the Redskins will trade this pick. If they have to make the pick, the highly versatile Fowler will solve many of the defensive problems the Redskins faced last year.
New York Jets – Kevin White, WR, West Virginia
The Jets’ young QB, Geno Smith, needs reliable offensive tools to work with; White will be a step in the right direction.
Chicago Bears – Danny Shelton, DT/NT, Washington
The Bears Defense gave up the second most points per game and the third most yards per game last season. Chicago does not have a true Nose Tackle and Defensive Coordinator Vic Fangio’ s 3-4 base with 4-3 under alignment requires a strong presence to anchor the Nose.
Atlanta Falcons – Shane Ray, DE/OLB, Missouri
Atlanta’s Defense had a paltry 22 sacks and gave up 21 rushing touchdowns.
New York Giants – Todd Gurley, RB, Georgia
No Giants Running Back rushed for more than 721 yards and the RBs averaged 3.6 yards per attempt.
Louis Rams – Marcus Mariota, QB, Oregon
The Rams will give fourth year Quarterback Nick Foles a chance to prove he is the long term answer but will give Offensive Coordinator and former Quarterbacks Coach Frank Cignetti to groom Mariota into a first class NFL Quarterback.
The Rams will give fourth year Quarterback Nick Foles a chance to prove he is the long term answer
Minnesota Vikings – Melvin Gordon, RB, Wisconsin
Gordon will spell AP this season and provide a change of pace, but he will also be the “heir apparent” to AP for 2016.
Cleveland Browns – DeVante Parker, WR, Louisville
Parker, who is an A. J. Green clone (not yet as good as Green) will help Josh McCown or Johnny Manziel with his large catching radius and yards after catch ability.

Da Windy City
New Orleans Saints – Dorial Green-Beckham, WR, Oklahoma
Drew Brees likes big targets; Green-Beckham fits that mold. Green-Beckham’s off the field woes resemble that of Dez Bryant a few years ago. Like the Cowboys, the Saints will roll the dice.
Miami Dolphins – Randy Gregory, DE, Nebraska
With the season long suspension of DE Dion Jordan, Miami needs an effective pass rusher to team with Ndomukong Suh.
San Francisco 49ers – D. J. Humphreys, OT, Florida
Humphreys has the quickness, agility and strength to play both Left Tackle and Guard.
Houston Texans – Andrus Peat, OT, Stanford
Houston will probably move up, if they can, to get Mariota but if they can’t, look for them to move back or draft a Tackle, probably Peat.
San Diego Chargers – T. J. Clemmings, OT, Pittsburgh
Despite his inexperience at Tackle (he converted from DE), Clemmings has become very effective in run blocking and pass protection.
Kansas City Chiefs – Trae Waynes, CB, Michigan State
With a grand total of 6 interceptions last season, the Chiefs need playmakers in their defensive backfield.
Cleveland Browns (second first round pick) – Arik Armstead, DE, Oregon
Armstead needs some development but has tremendous “up side.”
Philadelphia Eagles – Kevin Johnson, CB, Wake Forest
The Eagles are trying to assemble defensive playmakers, especially in the secondary.
Cincinnati Bengals – Malcom Brown, DT, Texas
The Bengals are more concerned with upgrading rather than filling holes. They want to be a little more stout against the run, especially in the “Red Zone.”
Collins will remind Steelers Nation of Troy Polamalu without the hair.
Pittsburgh Steelers – Landon Collins, SS, Alabama
Collins will remind Steelers Nation of Troy Polamalu without the hair.
Detroit Lions – Eddie Goldman, DT, Florida State
The 6’4”, 336 lbs. Goldman is the proverbial “immovable object.”
Arizona Cardinals – Marcus Peterson, CB, Washington
With the loss of Antonio Cromartie, the Cardinals need a replacement that is a tough, physical playmaker; that describes Peterson.
Carolina Panthers – La’el Collins, OT, LSU
Cam Newton needs better protection; he was sacked 38 times but ran for his life much more often.
Baltimore Ravens – Breshad Perriman, WR, UCF
The Ravens are looking for speed to replace Torrey Smith. Perriman ran the 40 in 4.24 seconds at UCF’s pro day. Don’t be surprised if the Ravens trade down and take Perriman in the second round.
Dallas Cowboys – Ronald Darby, CB, Florida State
Another talented player with character concerns. Jerry’s kids seem to work well in the Cowboys environment. However, Dallas is likely to trade out of this pick
Denver Broncos – Ereck Flowers, OT, Miami (FL)
This pick is all about improving the “run” game. Peyton Manning is already the least sacked and least hit QB in the league.
Indianapolis Colts – Jordan Phillips, DT, Oklahoma
Colts are trying to upgrade the middle of their defensive front.
Green Bay Packers – Vic Beasley, OLB, Clemson
With the loss of A. J. Hawk and Brad Jones, the Packers need an athletic, physical playmaking Linebacker.
New Orleans Saints (second first round pick) – Eli Harold, DE/OLB, Virginia
Rob Ryan needs versatile athletes to play his style of defense.
New England Patriots – Phillip Dorsett, WR, Miami (FL)
The Patriots will probably trade up to get a Cornerback.
