Ravens News: Kamar Aiken or Breshad Perriman?

Today’s Baltimore Ravens news is dominated by training camp, obviously, and there is no lack of interesting tidbits coming out of B-More.

The biggest of which is concerning to Ravens fans and fantasy football GM’s alike – are the Ravens serious about starting Kamar Aiken over first round draft choice Breshad Perriman?  Whoever wins the battle figures to eat up snaps opposite Steve Smith.

It’s a big deal because the winner replaces Torrey Smith, who not only racked up 11 touchdowns last season, but he was an annual target hog as well.  There’s production, and perhaps stardom, to be found here.

While most expect Perriman to seize the crown, Aiken has received all the starting snaps thus far, enjoying veteran deference.  Don’t forget that Perriman dropped a lot of passes both in college and at minicamp.  He might be too raw to take over at the moment.

Another camp battle to watch involves the entire secondary, much of which is shiny and new after last season’s injury filled debacle.  We know that Jimmy Smith and Lardarius Webb are presumed starters, but where will everyone else fall?

The Ravens also made a couple of notable transactions on Wednesday, cutting undrafted wide receiver Cam Worthy, who injured his foot in OTAs back in June.  Filling his spot is former Bengals, Eagles, and Bears safety Tom Nelson, who is making the position switch to receiver.  Nelson hasn’t played in a regular season game since 2011.

Wrapping things up, we take an extremely early look at the Ravens’ 2016 opponents.

Hope you enjoy today’s news roundup, and happy training camp Ravens fans!
