Things couldn’t have gotten off to a much worse start for the Ravens’ new look offense. Joe Flacco put on a nightmare performance, getting no help from his running backs or wide receivers. To make matters worse, the game ended with a Flacco interception by former Raven Darian Stewart in the end zone.

Flacco finished the game 18/32 for 117 yards (3.7 avg!!), 0 touchdowns, 2 inteceptions, and a putrid 38.2 QB rating.
The running game was absolutely stuck in the mud against a dominant Broncos defensive front. Justin Forsett (14 carries, 43 yards, 3.1 avg) ceded a ton of carries to rookie Buck Allen (9 carries, 30 yards, 3.3 avg), but neither was even remotely effective.
With Steve Smith the only viable option in the receiving corps, the Broncos had little problem shutting down Sr. and everyone else with their elite secondary. Marlon Brown “led” the way with 2 receptions for 25 yards thanks to a 22 yard catch that was the longest offensive play of the day.
All in all, a nightmare performance and one that should have new offensive coordinator Marc Trestman going back to the drawing board. We can only hope that Gary Kubiak’s knowledge of the team and their playbook was the catalyst for this debacle.
