Nick Boyle

Taken in the fifth round of the 2015 NFL Draft, Nick Boyle was picked to be more a blocking tight end. At 6″4, 260 pounds e’s another big tight end, and a former Blue Hen, just like Joe Flacco.

GP: 11

REC: 18

YARDS: 152

TD: 0

Boyle had a decent season on the blocking front, and even caught a few key passes. Boyle has long arms and is capable of going up and catching the football, and like Williams and Gillmore, he can move the ball after catching it. Unless Gillmore and Williams get injured next season, Boyle likely won’t see a boost in his offensive numbers, although he certainly has the ability to do it. Boyle made some tough catches this year and has shown ability to step up and play at a higher level when called upon.

However, Boyle was suspended for the final four games of the regular season for violating the NFL’s policy on performance-enhancing-drugs. Head Coach John Harbaugh confirmed that is was not steroids or anything like that, it was something that Boyle didn’t think or know was wrong. Boyle has a good future ahead of him so as long as he learns from his suspension, and puts it behind him.
