Obviously the Ravens first choice was a fantastic one in the 2002 draft. Reed is possibly the greatest ball-hawking free safety of all time. Anthony Weaver was a really solid player for the Ravens on the defensive line. Dave Zastidil was a valuable punter for a team that didn’t have a surplus of offensive talent. Chester Taylor was a steal in the sixth round. He added a needed counterpunch to Jamal Lewis in the running game.

The Ravens got four very good players in this draft which means it was a success. Still the Ravens inability to draft wide receivers was on full display in this draft. The Ravens drafted two receivers that didn’t pan out. To be fair however one of them was a sixth round draft pick.

Overall this draft was very good for the Ravens. Reed was beyond good for the Ravens, he was great.
