6. Ed Reed 106 Yard Interception Return Saves The Day

This one is a personal favorite of mine. It was the day before my 14th birthday in 2004. Tickets to the Ravens game were a birthday present from my parents. I was standing there nervously as the Cleveland Browns were marching down the field for the potential game winning score. The play started on the other side of the stadium, all of the sudden the stadium erupted. Then I saw Ed Reed running down the sideline, he had the ball. Reed took the interception return for a touchdown. His record breaking 106 yard return happened to be the best birthday present of all time, yet I’m willing to bet Reed will never know how special he made my 14th birthday.

Its the kind of moment that yanks out a few sentimental tears over the keyboard. It was a moment so perfect that there really aren’t adjectives powerful enough to describe it. Reed was a legend and this was clearly one of the most legendary moments of his career. It was surely one of the most important moments in Ravens history to me.

This play showed the greatness of Reed. The pass was tipped and he scooped it up just before it hit the ground. This is why he is the greatest ball hawk of all time. He saw the play happening and he put himself in position to make history. You really cannot say enough about that kind of performance. Any way, I will always be thankful to Reed for making my birthday amazing.
