The 2016 NFL Draft is almost here and today we’re going to take a look at the top 5 wide receivers on my Ebony Bird Big Board. The wide receiver position is less hyped than it usually is going into the draft. I have two theories on why this is. The first is the idea that size and speed are the top attributes for players to have. If you don’t run a blazing fast 40 yard dash, NFL scouts don’t get excited. Secondly if you don’t have the ideal, thick 6’2″ frame teams mark that down as a concern.
However the most important attributes seem to be vertical ability and catch radius. The receiver position is changing. Players like Odell Beckham Jr. are changing the game. The Ravens need a game changing wide receiver. None of these receivers are slow. There are a few receivers that have been criminally undersold in this draft season. There are superstars out there. The Ravens may be wise to position themselves to get a star receiver.
With that in mind let’s take a glimpse at my top 5 wide receivers in the 2016 NFL Draft.
