5. Anquan Boldin (49ers)

The Ravens and their fans all have warm memories of Anquan Boldin. He was a key figure in the Ravens Super Bowl XLVII victory. He was Joe Flacco’s favorite receiver to throw to. In a way there couldn’t be a more common sense move than the Ravens taking their star receiver back. Yet this option may not happen for a couple of reasons.

First we have to remember that there could be some lingering hard feelings held by Boldin towards the Ravens. Secondly signing Boldin would essentially be the Ravens saying they were wrong to part with him in the first place. You can say many nice things about the Ravens as an organization but you cannot deny that the Ravens brass is incredibly stubborn. This one seems obvious to us but it may not be for the Ravens and for Boldin.

Boldin can still play. He is a 35 year old veteran. He is not a long-term answer at the wide receiver position but he is surely someone who can help the Ravens now. Boldin had 69 receptions last year on an awful 2015 49ers team. Against the Ravens he had 5 catches for 102 yards. The Ravens know he has football left in the tank but, we’ll see if it happens.
