#10 Overall: The New York Giants Select:

RB. Ohio State. Ezekiel Elliot. 10. player. 31.
Wow. Could you imagine an offense with Eli Manning, Odell Beckham Jr., a healthy Victor Cruz and Elliot? Do you hear NFC East Title? I sure do. They could be a scary and dynamic offense with a talent such as Elliott, who in many’s opinion is the best running back to come out in the past 10 years, behind Adrian Peterson and perhaps Todd Gurley. Now the Giants could just as easily go for an offensive tackle here, but my bet is that if a player as talented as Elliott makes it all the way to #10, they have to pull the trigger.

Elliott has excellent vision and in the NFL the running lanes get even smaller so this is a very important trait he posses. He has a great jump cut and has the speed and elusiveness to break tackles at the first and second levels. He runs with recklessness, which isn’t a bad thing at all, but he could stand to ease up in the NFL as to not get injured often. Elliott made a ton of plays in college, but probably the most important aspect of his game that often goes overlooked is his pass blocking ability. He is fantastic at engaging pass rushers and redirecting them away from his quarterback. He is also a terrific receiver coming out of the backfield, with his massive 10″ hands.

It’s hard to find a quality comparison for Ezekiel Elliott, because he’s so unique in the sense that he can do almost everything exceptionally. If I had to choose, I’d probably go with Jamaal Charles. Charles has top class speed, but is similar to Elliot in that he just looks so smooth diagnosing and running through lanes. He can create yards by himself and is an excellent receiver. It’s not often a running back is one of the safest picks in the draft, but Ezekiel Elliot has the chance to be special.
