#5 Overall: The Jacksonville Jaguars select:

LB. UCLA. Myles Jack. 5. player. 52.
The Jaguars are a young, up and coming team that has a great nucleus on offense, but could stand to improve their defense. Myles Jack would be the perfect fit in Jacksonville, providing a Bobby Wagner-type role in Gus Bradley’s defense. The Jaguars signed Prince Amukamara and Malik Jackson and are pretty set at many defensive positions, except for their linebackers.

Jack would provide an instant upgrade on Jacksonville’s’ defense, as he is versatile enough to be a three-down linebacker, slot cornerback or even an emergency running back. I believe Jacksonville will place him at inside linebacker and allow him to roam and diagnose plays. He is extremely athletic, twitchy, and fast. Plus he has natural cover abilities on par with some of the best linebackers in the league. Jack isn’t just a finesse linebacker though, he can lay the boom on opposing running backs trying to find a crease. He diagnoses plays extremely well and is tough enough to stay in the box.

Jack’s knee injury could be a concern for some teams, and he may slide a bit, but I believe he will be a Pro-Bowl type talent immediately. If his knee checks out, he can be a game-changer and one of the best linebackers in the league. He reminds me of a faster Patrick Willis, who recently retired before the 2015 season. Willis was one of the best linebackers in the league when he was healthy, and Jack could be at a similar level as Willis.
