3. Marshall Yanda OG (Iowa) 3rd Round
The Ravens drafted Yanda in the third round in 2007. He was the 86th Overall pick. Yanda has been the Ravens rock at the right guard position ever since. He has started 120 games, been to five Pro Bowls and has plowed over many defensive players in the NFL. There may not be a better run blocker in the entire league than Yanda. Yanda is arguably a future member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame. That’s the type of career that he has had with the Ravens.
The Ravens drafted Ben Grubbs in the first round in 2007. When the Ravens had to choose, they kept Yanda. They replaced Grubbs with Osemele. Osemele has left to the Oakland Raiders, Yanda is still a Raven. In fact Osemele and Yanda were due to be free agents together, but the Ravens made a deal with Yanda during the season. The Ravens wouldn’t even think about letting Yanda go.
Yanda has been a cornerstone player of the franchise. He is one of the most important players the Ravens have. Yanda put together a career that you’d expect from a first round selection. He was a third round pick.
