Answers To Questions 1-5

Question 1: Ray Lewis was not known as a pass rusher yet he had 41.5 sacks in his 17 year career. In fact he had at least one sack in all but one season. Which season did number 52 not have a sack?

The answer is the 2002 season. This of course is explained by him being injured for most of the season. Lewis only played in 5 games that season. He had 57 tackles and two interceptions in his shortened season. Though in 2005 and 2012 Lewis only played six games due to injury and he still had one sack in both years.

Question 2: The Ravens came to Baltimore in 1996. Their first game was a  19-14 victory against the Oakland Raiders. Who scored the Ravens first touchdown?

More from Ebony Bird

The answer is Vinny Testeverde. Testeverde scored a nine yard rushing touchdown in the first quarter. It seems fitting that the Ravens (who struggled to find a QB for years) had their first quarterback open the scoring on the ground. The reason this question is tricky is that Earnest Byner scored the game winning touchdown. That could be easy to mix up in your memory.

Question 3: Joe Flacco loves throwing the football to the tight end. Which tight end caught his first touchdown pass?

The answer is Daniel Wilcox. This one should not have been a hard one since two of the answers obviously did not work. Flacco was drafted in 2008 and he’s been the starter since that season opener. Ed Dickson and Dennis Pitta were drafted in 2010. Therefore Wilcox and Heap only two answers that could have worked. Wilcox caught Flacco’s first touchdown pass in week 4 of his rookie season, against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Question 4: The Ravens have a history of signing veteran receivers that show they still have a lot in the tank. Derrick Mason, Anquan Boldin and Steve Smith Sr. are the best wide receivers in team history. Which veteran receiver caught the most touchdown passes with the Ravens?

The answer is Derrick Mason and it is not even close. Mason had 29 touchdowns with the Ravens. Boldin had 14 and Smith Sr. has had nine touchdown receptions. The easy explanation for this question is that Mason played with the Ravens the longest. Mason played in Baltimore for six seasons. Boldin only had three years with the team. Smith Sr. is entering his third year with the Ravens.

Question 5: In 2003 the Ravens had a 17 point comeback against the Seattle Seahawks. Matt Stover won the game with a clutch kick in overtime. The Ravens got some help from the officials in that game. What mistake behooved the Ravens comeback?

The Ravens got an extra timeout. It was a mistake the helped the Ravens greatly. It’s okay with me, the Ravens have been on the wrong side of officiating mistakes many times. That was a special game no matter what.
