Will The Defensive Philosophy Change?

The Ravens defense will have to be aggressive. The problem is that I don’t think Dean Pees has an aggressive bone in his whole body. Pees does not get creative with blitzes with high frequency. His defense is designed to not give up the big play. The idea is to hold the opponent to field goals.

The Ravens defense therefore goes through frustrating sequences in the middle of the field. The Ravens added plenty of talent to the front seven and powerful pass rush would help everything. Pees has to bring the heat.

You cannot rely on two pass rushers to simply beat the guy in front of him all the time. The Ravens defense needs some Old Bay, but will Pees provide the spice?
