Ed Reed Was The Greatest Ball Hawk The NFL Will Ever See

They say that numbers never lie. When you look at the numbers that Ed Reed put up as a member of the Ravens, the numbers certainly tell the truth. Reed’s 64 career interceptions tell you the truth about his greatness. His seven defensive touchdowns tell you an awful lot. Reed was a legend. Baltimore cannot wait to see him inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame; if he is not a first ballot player I don’t know who is.

Today I wanted to celebrate the historic accomplishments and jaw dropping plays that Reed had in his career. Number 20 will always be iconic, not just for the Baltimore Ravens but for professional football as a whole. Reed did things that defied all explanation. He put up video game like numbers. He was incredible.

His career did not end with the Ravens, but he is always and forever a Raven. Let’s just forget his time with the Texans and Jets. His run with the Ravens ended so perfectly. He had an interception in the Super Bowl. He finally got the Super Bowl ring that he came so close to getting, so many times. That was the perfect moment. Here are the 5 best moments along the way.
