5. Terrence Brooks

Terrence Brooks really has not had a ton of chances to shine with the Ravens. After getting injured late in his rookie season, Brooks has not played much at the safety position. The truth is that we don’t even know what Brooks is capable of. He struggled in his rookie season, but showed flashes of brilliance. There was a hit he delivered against the Tennessee Titans, that was very memorable.

What we need to see from Brooks is a strong preseason. Against the New Orleans Saints in 2014, he should have had an easy interception. Instead of snatching the football out of the air, he waited for it to get to him. It is plays like this that show he needs to work on the fundamentals of the position. There is no questioning his physical tool set. Brooks is a physical safety with range.

Last season this athletic ability was on display on special teams. Brooks has plenty of potential, he just needs a shot. Eric Weddle was a huge addition to the Ravens, but I wouldn’t expect Brooks to be in love with the move. Brooks needs another chance to become a starter on the defense. It is possible that he could work into the conversation at the free safety position.
