It Looks Like Breshad Perriman Will Be Okay

According to multiple reports: The Ravens got the best possible news on wide receiver Breshad Perriman today, as he does not need surgery to repair a partially torn ACL. His knee was deemed stable by renowned orthopedic surgeon Dr. James Andrews. He was given a stem cell injection, to promote healing, and should be back for the start of the regular season in September.

Even though the Ravens prepared for life without Perriman by signing Mike Wallace and drafting Chris Moore, the team is much better with Perriman on it. His size and speed cannot be taught, and after a season in which he missed the entire season, he knows the playbook in and out by now.

His skill set perfectly matches what Joe Flacco loves to do, and that’s to be aggressive down the field. With Perriman paired with Wallace, the Ravens will be able to stretch defenses and be able to open up the run and short passing game, as teams will keep safeties back deep.

On a personal level, Perriman has endured perhaps the most difficult offseason of any player on the Ravens. He had to recover from a pretty severe knee injury, had to hear heckling from fans saying he’s a bust, his good friend and fellow Raven teammate Tray Walker tragically passed away, his father suffered a stroke and was put on life support for a couple of weeks, and now the most recent injury to his left knee. You can’t help but root for the kid, as he’s undergone more trials and travesties than most people in a long time.

He’s become a stronger person going through this, and with his skillset, Breshad Perriman has the potential to be the Ravens’ best wide receiver going into 2016.
