The injury bug was the Ravens biggest enemy last season. So many of their key players, players they could not live without, got hurt. Going into 2016, there is nothing more concerning than injuries racking up on this team.
Joe Flacco, Steve Smith Sr., Terrell Suggs and Justin Forsett are all spending the offseason in physical rehabilitation. Yes, four of the Ravens true leaders will enter the season without a full slate of health. Last season the Ravens were one of the most injured teams. While injuries cannot be controlled, the Ravens would be wise to look at how they do things. Maybe there was a reason injuries happened to them more frequently than other teams? I’m not an expert on sports injuries; I don’t have the answer to that question. I do however think it is worth looking into for the purple and black.
Will the recovering Ravens be in football shape? Will their injuries have lingering effects? The Ravens need Flacco to be their franchise quarterback. Without Joe, the team would be in serious trouble. With an injury hampered Flacco, the Ravens offense would be set back. Without Smith Sr. the offense would also take a hit. Terrell Suggs is the leader of the defense; his injury looms large over most of the teams’ concerns. The Ravens injuries from last season are a chief concern for the Ravens. Keeping the healthy Ravens healthy is also critical.
