5 Ravens Ready to Breakout in 2016

#5 : Timmy Jernigan, DE/DT
Jernigan was selected in the second round of the 2014 draft and has shown flashes of brilliance the last two seasons, but has yet to put it all together. It’s been widely reported that his work ethic has improved tremendously this offseason and that in itself should lead to a more successful season.
Jernigan is among the most talented and athletic defensive linemen in the league. With Terrell Suggs and Elvis Dumervil returning back healthy (hopefully) and newly added young pass rushers, Jernigan will get a lot more one-on-one match ups, which bodes well for him.

He’s only 23 and has a renewed focus, so I see no reason why Timmy Jernigan can’t get 5-10 sacks this season. Even if his sack number isn’t high, as long as he is consistently pressuring the quarterback he will still be extremely useful to defensive coordinator Dean Pees.
