Looking at the Baltimore Ravens roster, it looks pretty strong to me…

The Baltimore Ravens roster looks solid. The Ravens have fixed most of their fixable problems. They added depth to key positions. They also added play-makers to the roster. With key players recovering from injuries as the only caveat, the Ravens don’t have much to worry about.

The biggest problem area for the Ravens has been the secondary. This has been the biggest problem for the Ravens for several seasons. The addition of Eric Weddle really helps. Weddle will be the strong safety and his range will be a game changer for the Ravens. He will be the quarterback of the secondary; with a strong leader there should be less miscues from the Ravens pass defense.

At the cornerback position Jimmy Smith will have a full bill of health. This should help his confidence. Shareece Wright was doing much better at the end of last season. While I’m still a bit tentative about him as are number two corner, the Ravens don’t seem to be. Jerraud Powers is a good nickel and Tavon Young shows promise.

The Ravens defense looks fully loaded in the front seven. The Ravens used four of their draft picks to insert young talent into the defensive front. With Za’Darius Smith and Timmy Jernigan pegged by many as breakout players for 2016, there is a lot to look forward to. Elvis Dumervil and a healthy Terrell Suggs are an unbelievable pair of outside linebackers.

On the offense there is a lot to be encouraged about. The Ravens are expecting to see Breshad Perriman make an impact (finally) this season. Steve Smith Sr., Kamar Aiken and Mike Wallace look to be a strong core of receiving talent.

The Ravens have an abundance of talent at the tight end and running back positions. The only real concern is Ronnie Stanley manning the left tackle spot. If Stanley just does okay, the offensive line looks more much better than okay.

Obviously injuries can hamper things. I’m not saying that John Harbaugh’s team has nothing to worry about. But I do think, the Ravens have an awful lot going for them. This is a solid roster. The Ravens have a real chance to do something big this season.
