2. Tucker Has The Clutch Gene

With the game on the line, we don’t get nervous. We know that Tucker is going to split the uprights and we’re going to win the game. That state of mind is about as valuable as anything in football. Look at what happened for the Steelers last season, before they found a suitable replacement for Shaun Shuism. It changed everything late in games for Mike Tomlin. The point is that having Tucker, a reliable kicker in the biggest moment, makes the biggest moment easier for the Ravens.

Tucker made the impossible seem possible with a 61 yard field goal to beat the Detroit Lions. His kick in the 2012 divisional game against the Denver Broncos, was memorable. Tucker is a game winning field goal machine. Inside of 50 yards he is practically automatic. He’ll miss some of the longer ones, but he tends to make them when he needs to.

Tucker is clutch. The Ravens have a propensity for making life harder than it has to be. There are a lot of tight games that go down to the wire, in Ravens football. That means being clutch is a big trait for their kicker to have. Tucker gives the Ravens piece of mind.
