5. Chris Moore

While we’re still waiting for Breshad Perriman to show us what he’s got, Chris Moore is showing us what he can do. The other day I saw a highlight of Moore catching a deep pass from Flacco, after he blazed by Jimmy Smith. That’s a rookie wide receiver from Cincinnati beating the Ravens top cornerback.

Moore is taking advantage of the fact that Steve Smith Sr. and Breshad Perriman aren’t playing yet. The Ravens injury situation provided Moore with the golden window of opportunity and he’s taking advantage. Moore is a big wide receiver with speed. The most exciting thing is he is developing a chemistry with Joe Flacco.

Jamison Hensley of ESPN wrote an article praising Moore. He said:

"Moore is generating some early buzz after catching a 60-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Joe Flacco in each of the first two practices. For a team looking for playmakers to step up, Moore is gaining attention for his speed and route running."

The Ravens were desperate for play making talent at the wide receiver position last season. Moore may have been a diamond in the rough. The Ravens drafted him in the fourth round and he is showing to have more talent than his draft position suggests. It’s early but it is very exciting to hear nothing but praise for a rookie wide receiver (at the training camp of the team that usually can’t draft wide receivers).
