2. Looking At The Secondary:

The Ravens secondary will be similarly constructed from last season. Jimmy Smith and Shareece Wright are your corners. The big addition is Eric Weddle. Weddle is the former Pro Bowl player from the San Diego Chargers. At the strong safety position he will be the leader of the secondary. The defensive backs are all counting on Weddle to be the coach on the field.

I am interested to see how the starting secondary looks. I want to see how Weddle and Ladarius Webb communicate at the safety positions. I want to see if they worked the kinks out yet. Another interesting thing to watch is how they use Terrance Brooks and Anthony Levine. Its not just the starters that interest you at a practice. With Webb and Weddle both being older players it is important to develop Brooks and Levine. Matt Elam and Kendrick Lewis obviously fit into the equation.

One player that I cannot wait to evaluate is Tavon Young. The rookie from Temple is generating a ton of buzz. Young is a player that I see blossoming into a Corey Graham kind of cornerback. He seems to be ahead of the game as a rookie. Young will compete with Jerraud Powers for the nickel cornerback job.
