3 Observations from Ravens Open Practice
Kenneth Dixon Stole The Show
There was no player that generated more buzz from the crowd than Dixon. Dixon showed that the hype around him was true. Dixon showed that he had moves on top of moves, speed and vision. On one play Dixon started outside and saw a dead end. The defense was all over the run but Dixon dazzled his way into the open field. Dixon can make something out of nothing.
The running back competition for the Ravens is incredibly tight. This is nothing new. Every time we think we have a grasp on the running back depth chart, one of the Ravens backs impress us. Terrance West had some impressive runs. Forsett got limited carries, which makes me think that Dixon and West are fueling the competition. We know what Forsett can do. We know that Dixon is making the team.
If I had to bet, the Ravens are thinking about keeping Forsett, Allen, Dixon and West. Lorenzo Taliaferro is probably on his way out the door. The very fact that the Ravens kept adding to the running back competition shows you they were not banking on Taliaferro. Dixon looked incredible at the open practice. This is going to be fun.
