3 Observations from Ravens Open Practice
The Ravens Injury Situation Is Already Troubling
The players that were not on the field had their absences felt by the team and by the crowd. The Ravens are still waiting for the return of Steve Smith Sr. and Terrell Suggs. If we’re being honest, we don’t know if we will ever see Breshad Perriman. Dennis Pitta has been out with a sprained finger, since the first open practice on Monday. Crockett Gillmore has been banged up. Bronson Kaufusi is out for the season with a broken ankle.
The Ravens gave their young receiving talent plenty of chances on Saturday night. Kaelin Clay struggled. Daniel Brown had an inexcusable drop. Keenan Reynolds was not having a great night. I know the Ravens have a 90 man roster and that 47 of these players will be gone by the time the season starts. Without the Ravens stars on the field, the Ravens will be in trouble this season. The amount of injuries the Ravens sustained last season is still haunting them. On top of that more players have caught the injury bug.
Next: Ronnie Stanley Suffers Minor Injury
When we found out that Ronnie Stanley left the field, with a soft tissue injury, in unison fans thought “Oh come on!” While it looks like Stanley’s injury doesn’t seem to be anything to serious, it was unnerving. We must hope that the Ravens can find some bug spray and the injury bug will go away.
