Roster Cuts 6-10

  1. Patrick Onwuasor, LB
  2. Stephen Houston, RB
  3. James Hurst, OT
  4. Stephane Mombat, OT
  5. Jerrod Johnson, QB

The most recognizable name on this list is James Hurst. The experiment with the former North Carolina Tar Heel has failed. The Ravens know that putting Hurst on Joe Flacco’s blind side is never an acceptable possibility. He may be the biggest name on this list but the Ravens know they don’t want to have him on the field. When Ronnie Stanley had a minor injury last Saturday, the Ravens plugged Alex Lewis at the left tackle spot. That says it all right there.

Patrick Onwuasor has gotten chippy with the Ravens best players in training camp. Going over the line is not how you impress a team panicked about injuries. The college safety turned linebacker probably wasn’t making the roster any way.

Jerrod Johnson isn’t making the roster. The Ravens have four quarterbacks right now and he’s probably the worst one. The Ravens will likely just keep two quarterbacks, Joe Flacco and Ryan Mallet. Stephen Houston is the easily forgotten man in a crowded group of running backs.
