3. Making Others Better

The number one job as a leader in the NFL is to make others around you better. The Ravens are better with the addition of Eric Weddle. The Ravens secondary is a group that needs to undergo a dramatic transformation. The last several years it has been a complete disaster. The Ravens brought Weddle in to be a great strong safety and to elevate the performance of his fellow defensive backs.

Weddle is the quarterback of the defense. Perched up in the third level of the defense, he can see it all. Weddle’s job is to call it like he sees it and get the secondary in a position to make plays. Think of him as a player-coach. There isn’t a look or a formation that Weddle hasn’t seen. He knows what to do in every occasion.

Leaders make others better. It seems like nobody does this style of leadership better than number 32. Weddle has a chance to transform the Ravens secondary, and to make the defense powerful once again.
