3. A Schedule They Can Handle

The Baltimore Ravens don’t have an easy schedule. The second half of their season is filled with division rivals, and they do battle with the New England Patriots. However, the schedule is workable. The Ravens schedule is front loaded with confidence building games. If the Ravens can load up on wins in the first eight weeks of the season, they can position themselves for a playoff run.

The Ravens get some home cooking to start. While the Ravens have lost their last three season openers, you have to believe they can take down the Buffalo Bills. The Browns in week two, will be a classic AFC North battle, but the Ravens will win.

The Oakland Raiders and the Jacksonville Jaguars are going to be tougher than they were in the past. If the Ravens beat one of them, they will be fine. The moral of the story is that in the first eight weeks of the season the Ravens could go 6-2 or better. They need to do what the did in 2012. They must get off to a fast start and when they stumble, they’ll have a cushion.

The Ravens play the NFC East this year. Washington won that division last year with an 8-8 record. The New York Giants have been a mess for the last couple of seasons. The Philadelphia Eagles have some talent, but nobody knows what to expect from them. When you look at the Dallas Cowboys, you look at the one team that you know can be a winner. If Tony Romo stays healthy the Cowboys will be tough, though their defense has some real weaknesses. The Ravens could easily sweep the NFC East. If they do, that’s four wins right there.
