4. They Are The Underdogs

The purple and black do their best when nobody expects them too. In 2012, the Ravens weren’t supposed to win the Super Bowl. In 2000 the Ravens weren’t supposed to win the Super Bowl. The 2008 Ravens were supposed to be a rebuilding team; they went to the AFC Championship game. Do you see a pattern here?

The Ravens have always had a chip on their shoulders. They’re the team that never gets enough credit when they win. On ESPN it’s always how the other team lost. The Ravens have a chip on their shoulder when they are at their best. One thing is for sure, the us against the world mindset has always been a strong motivator in Baltimore.

The Ravens were expected to be Super Bowl favorites in 2007. They were coming off a 13-3 season. Injuries and a horrible display of quarterbacking made the team 5-11. The Ravens were actually a sexy pick for the Super Bowl last season. They went 5-11. Now the Ravens are back where they flourish, under the radar.
