Dud: Shareece Wright

Not many people have pointed this out, but Shareece Wright is looking more and more like a liability when lined up next to Jimmy Smith.

While he hasn’t given up the big play, opposing offenses are targeting Wright often and have been having success. Intermediate and quick crossing routes seem to be Wright’s kryptonite, as he has been continually beaten.

Wright isn’t a bad player by any means, but he’s not playing very well right now.

Wright was the team’s best corner towards the end of last season, but he still has trouble looking for the ball when in coverage, as proven by his career interception total of one.

Hopefully the abandoning of obviously vanilla defensive alignments and the return of a healthy pass rush will help Wright.
