1. Ronnie Stanley Looks The Part

If you need any proof that wide receiver is a sexier position than the offensive line, consider the following statement. We have spent more time talking about the Ravens 2015 1st round pick, Breshad Perriman (who hasn’t played yet) than we have about Ronnie Stanley. Stanley was the sixth overall pick in this years NFL Draft and he is quietly looking the part.

In fact Pro Football Focus has Stanley ranked as the top rated rookie this preseason. Stanley has kept pass rushers away from the Ravens quarterbacks, opened up big time rushing lanes for the ball carriers, and has silenced the doubters.

Stanley was my chief concern going into the preseason action. I was concerned that he wasn’t the big, bad wolf the Ravens needed him to be. When he took the field in his number 79 jersey, it became very apparent that he has the requisite bite. The rookie offensive tackle from Notre Dame hasn’t given us any reason for pause so far. Sticking to my guns and doubting Stanley would simply be ignoring the game tape.
